Obituary of Edward “Ed” Edwards
Ed passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at his home in Waterloo, on Friday, March 2, 2018, at the age of 86.
Beloved husband of Ellen (nee Graham) for 60 years. Cherished dad of Diane (John) Timmings, Ron (Marlane) Edwards, and Lori Edwards (Stuart Welsh). Proud grandpa of Emily (Kevin) Bond, Beverly (Ian) MacDonald, Ben Timmings (Teagen Knowles), Angela Timmings, Jerrett Edwards (Morgan), Joshua Edwards, Tylea Edwards, Chris Funk, and Stacey Funk. Loving great-grandpa of Sophie and Isabelle Bond, Cameron MacDonald, and Nicholas Edwards. Dear brother of June (Bill) Collier and brother-in-law of Donna Hill.
Predeceased by his parents, Edward (Ted) Edwards and Grace Rae; and brother, Bob (Betty Jean) Edwards.
Ed retired in 1993 from Revenue Canada as a field auditor. During his lifetime, Ed participated in Kiwanis Club, Probus Club, Retired Business and Professional Men’s Club, and Kitchener Minor Soccer. Ed and Ellen enjoyed square dancing, lawn bowling with Heritage Greens Lawn Bowling Club, several bridge clubs, and traveling. Ed and Ellen were longtime members of St. James’-Rosemount United Church in Kitchener where Ed was a member of the Finance Committee.
Ed’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. James’-Rosemount United Church, 171 Sherwood Avenue, Kitchener on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Chris Fickling officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the church hall. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener.
