1930-2018
The Late Edward LaSaga
passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday,
May 19, 2018 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL at the
age of 88 years. He will always be remembered and loved by his beloved
wife of 69 years Zita LaSaga; children: Stanley (Irene), Viola (Ted),
Valerie (Elias), Artie (Cindy), Vivian, Jerome (Glenda), Ronald
(Amanda), Wade (Linda), Vera (Clem), Verna (Eric), Gerard (Elaine),
Vita (Jamie), Dwayne (Michelle), Shawn (Kim), grandson Adrean; 33
grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild;
sisters: Leona Brake, Mary Brake (Nellie); step-brothers: Martin,
Michael; step-sister Ann Marie as well as many nieces, nephews other
family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents Violet
& Wilfred; daughter Ramona; grandson Brian LaSaga; brothers:
Vincent, Stanley, Martin and sister Whilomeana. The family would like
to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Attalla, Dr. Jaber, Dr. Verma
and the staff on the Medicine and Pallative care units of Sir Thomas
Roddick Hospital. Also sincere thanks are extended to Dr. Bergstrom of
the Health Science Center. The dedication and care given to our father
will be forever remembered and greatly appreciated. To honor and respect Edward’s wishes,
cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium, Pasadena,
NL. Visitation will
take place on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 between the hours of 2 – 4
& 7 – 9 p.m. from St. Ann’s Chapel, Flat Bay, NL
from where the funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at
10:00 a.m. with father Edmund Dantes officiating. Inurnment will take
place in July 2018 at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in St.
Teresa’s, NL. As expressions of sympathy donations may be
made to a charity of ones’ choice. Funeral arrangements have
been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville
Crossing, NL.
