Edna Isabel Beatty
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Edna’s passing on October 15th, 2018, at the Lion’s Care Home at the age of 94.
She was predeceased by her father William Beatty and mother Elisa Beatty (McKenzie), brother Harold Beatty (Lois), sister Viola Steggles (Robert). She will be deeply missed by her sister Alma Carrabre (Thomas), many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Edna was born in Carlyle Saskatchewan on January 27th, 1924. She moved to Winnipeg at an early age and started her career as a bookkeeper at Great-West Saddlery. She later secured a position at the Health Sciences Centre on Sherbrook were retired in 1989. Edna loved to square dance, bowl and travel. But, spending time with friends and family was always her favorite thing to do.
Edna spent her final years on the 2nd floor of Lion’s Care Home, the family would like to express their gratitude for the kind and loving care she received there. A special thanks is given to Helen Taupe, a companion who spent many hours providing comfort to Edna.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Mb. R3C 4G2.
