1932-2018
Helen “Edna” (Breen) Boucher, 86, passed
away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, surrounded by her family. She will
be fondly remembered for her soft-spoken, gentle nature and forever
cherished by her family and friends. Edna is survived by her children:
Annabeth Boyle (John), Mary Smith (Dale), Helen Boucher, James Boucher
(Kim), Sheila Wilson (Shawn), Linda MacGregor (Bruce), Charlene
O’Neill (D’Arcy), and Carol Curley (Terry); one
sister, Kathleen Hureau; one brother, Damien Breen; 20 grandchildren
and 8 great-grandchildren. Edna was married to her husband, Charles
Gerrard “Charlie” Boucher, for 37 years before his
death in 1990. They lived in Ontario before moving back to Cape Jack,
where they were both born, to raise their 8 children. In 1976, the
family moved to New Glasgow where Edna owned and operated
“Edna’s Tailoring”. She lived the
remainder of her life with her youngest daughter, Carol, her husband,
Terry, and their children, Evan and Emma. Edna lived a faith-filled
life and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish where she served
on the CWL. Many thanks are extended to the staff and her friends at
Elk’s Court, Brookfield. Visitation 7-9 pm Wednesday,
November 7, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New
Glasgow. Funeral mass 11 am Thursday, November 8, in Our Lady of
Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton, with Fr. Barrett
Clare-Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Parish
Cemetery.
