Rd: Shakness, Earl James, 84 of the Valley View Villa,
Riverton and formerly of Westville Rd passed away on Saturday Oct 27,
2018 in the Villa.
Born in
Stellarton he was a son of the late John and Margaret (Bell)
Shakness.
Earl was
a longtime resident of Westville Rd. before residing at Valley View
Villa for the past two years. He started his working
career with Allan’s Dairy, later working at
Scotsburn Dairy until his retirement Fishing was a passion
of Earl’s along with his good sense of
humour.
Surviving
are his wife the former Diana (Betts) sons; Leo(Kathy),Salem; Robert
(Kayla), Hopewell; daughters; Dawn (Darin) Geddes,
Westville; Karen (John) Megeney, Medicine Hat,
Alberta; Kelly Shakness, Trenton; a number of grandchildren and great-
grandchildren; brothers; Bill and Fred, sisters; Alice, Linda and
Helen.
He was
predeceased by a son Gregory and a number of brothers and
sisters.
A family
graveside service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday in the Mount William
Cemetery with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson
officiating.
Family
flowers only. Donations in memory of Earl may be made to the Alzheimer
Society of Nova Scotia, Valley View Villa or to
LORDA.
The
family would like to thank Valley View Villa Staff for the
care and compassion shown to their husband and father while
he was a resident there .
