Mattinson, Earl Archibald – 57, Oxford, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Springhill, he was a son of Leon Mattinson and the late Erma (Mills) Mattinson. Earl worked at Oxford Frozen Foods for over 25 years. He loved playing music and especially enjoyed playing at the Capital Theatre on jam nights. Earl also liked riding his motorcycle on day trips along with his wife, Cheryl, as well as his stepfather, Albert “Boots” Legere. Family was very important to Earl and also his group of close friends. Earl is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Amanda (Steven Comeau); son, David Barron; grandson, Chase Comeau; brother, Edward (Debbie); nephews, James and Christopher. Cremation has taken place under the direction of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Oxford (902-447-2930). A celebration of Earl’s life will be held Saturday, April 7 from 3-9 p.m. with live music beginning at 6 p.m. all in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #36, 74 Jackson Street, Oxford.
