WWII Veteran
Peacefully at Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Lise Meredith (nee Mongeon). Predeceased by his first wife Lorna (nee Bethune). Loving father of Colin (Carolina), Anne, Barbara and William (Simi). Grandfather of Jordan, Jason and Tyler. Great grandfather of Michael and James. Dear brother of the late Joan Perry of Vancouver. Brother in law of Jeannine Arthur, Marie-Therese Mongeon (Jean Louis) of Montreal, Marian Blakesley of Billings, Montana, Margaret Lyon (Donald) and the late Janet Dimock (Bev). Son of the late George and Winnifred Meredith. Proud Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was an enthusiastic volunteer guide at the Canadian War Museum. Doug was an avid skier and cyclist. He and Lise enjoyed summers at their cottage. Special thanks to the staff of Ottawa 2 East at PRVHC for their exceptional care. Friends may pay respects at the
