OBITUARY
Douglas Hermann
February 8, 1928 – November 7, 2018
HERMANN, Douglas passed away November 7, 2018 at Vancouver General Hospital at the age of 90. Douglas will be lovingly remembered by his wife Grace; children, Daffydd (Triana), Debbie (Rick), Darwyn, and Dylan; grandchildren, Vanessa (Dan), Katie (Devan), Colin, Taylor, Justin, Craig, Sofia, Alondra, and Samanta; great grandson, Maverick. Douglas was born in Swansea, Wales, and given the name of Theodore JOHN. He was adopted at birth and his name was changed to Douglas HERMANN. As a young man he worked as a merchant marine and travelled the world and immigrated to Saint John, New Brunswick in March, 1954. From there he travelled to the Yukon where he worked in the gold mines and eventually made his way to Vancouver where he met Grace. Doug and Grace were married May 8, 1959. Doug Worked for the City of Vancouver from 1958-1989. Doug was known for his love of travelling, fishing, surfing, sense of adventure and his never-ending repertoire of stories and jokes. Most frequently used phrase, “Hun get me a beer”. A Celebration of Life will be held November 17, 2018, at 3:00pm at Fraserview Golf Course located at 7800 Vivian Drive, Vancouver, BC.
