Douglas Allan Pooley 2018

Mr. Douglas Allan Pooley passed away April 2, 2018 at the Stettler Health Care Centre at the age of 69. Doug was born to Reta (Savage) and Harvey Pooley on August 6, 1948 at Stettler. Doug attended school in Stettler graduating from Wm. E. Hay High School and then continuing his education at SAIT to obtain his drafting certificate.
Doug had a long lasting fascination with cars; partially obtained from his father. Harvey and Doug could always be seen attending car shows; Harvey more towards the older cars and Doug gravitated to the muscle car section.
Doug treasured the times he spent with the ‘boys’ at the Stettler Elks; many of which became life long friends. Doug, Harvey and Reta were all residents in Willow Creek Lodge. Doug enjoyed the friendship and the companionship of the residents and staff until his passing.
Doug will be remembered by his sister Nancy (Myles) Yewchuk of Medicine Hat; his nephew Kyle Yewchuk; his guardian John Grant and his family; cousins, other family and friends. Doug was predeceased by his mother Reta Pooley, his father Harvey Pooley as well as other family gone before him.
A graveside service will be announced later in the Spring of 2018. Memorial donations may be made to Alberta Cancer Foundation or a charity of your own choice.
