Dorothy Jean Smith
1938-2018
At home, surrounded by
her family, on Wed. April 11th 2018, after a brave battle with cancer
in her 80th year. Predeceased by her beloved
husband Barry Smith (2008), and dear parents Sid Martin and Mary
(Reeve), siblings, Art Martin, Ruby Mills, Jack Martin, Helen
Creighton and Edith Coulter. Dear mother of Mary (Patrick) Blaney,
Cynthia Cernigoy and James Smith (Christine Firby). Survived by
Brothers Ron (Barb) Martin, and Ken (Karen) Martin,
brother-in-law’s Ron (Gay) Smith and Brian Smith. Loved by
her10 grandchildren Lana McKinnon, William (Tressa) McKinnon, Tara
(Callum) Maloney, Laura Blaney, Krista (Derek) Wright, Patrick
(Kristy) Blaney, Amanda Simon, Mackenzie Smith, Samantha Firby and
Brandon Firby. Treasured great-grandmother to Samuel, Evelyn, Nora,
Quinlan, Porter, Andrew, Madeline, Liam, Audrey, Lachlan and
Willow.
Long-time
employee of the former London Northern Telecom plant.
Dorothy’s love of line-dancing will be missed by her good
friends of Port Rowan, Ontario and Golden Acres, Dunedin
Florida.
Cremation has taken
place.
Friends will be
received at Logan Funeral Home, 371
Dundas Street, London, Ontario (between Waterloo & Colborne
St.), on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 7:00 p.m.- 9:00
p.m.
The service to
celebrate Dorothy’s life will be conducted on Monday, April 16, 2018
at 11:00 a.m. in the Logan
Chapel.
Interment of ashes in
Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London, Ontario.
Those who wish may make
memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the London Humane
Society in memory of Dorothy Smith.

My sincere sympathy to the Smith family. I was fortunate to have known Dorothy since the first day she came to golden acres. She was a very lovely lady. Had many dances with her. To all her family please express my deepest sympathy.
