Dorothy Jean Harper RN 2018

The death of Dorothy Jean (MacGregor) Harper RN, widow of Millar Harper of Miramichi, NB, occurred at the Miramichi Senior Citizen Home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the age of 89. Born in Newcastle, NB, Dorothy was the daughter of the late David and Lula (Gallant) MacGregor.
Dorothy was a loving mother to Melanie and while she was nursing at the former Miramichi Hospital she enjoyed caring for the mother’s to be and the new arrivals. She was a member of St. James & St. John United Church UCW and the Miramichi Chapter # 44 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter Melanie Harper (Darryl Shaddick) of Newcastle, NB; two sisters: Lois Kunyz (Peter) of New Hampshire, USA, Muriel Taylor of New Jersey,USA and two brothers: Donnie of Chatham, NB and Ken of New Jersey, USA and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is predeceased by an infant brother, David.
Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held from St. James & St. John United Church on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11 AM with Rev. Alice Szemök officiating.
Burial will follow in the Miramichi Cemetery.
In Dorothy’s memory a donation may be made to the Miramichi Food Bank, SPCA or St. James & St. John United Church Memorial Fund.
