Dorothy Alice teBraake – 89, of
Wolfville, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 in the Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville. Born in The Netherlands, she was a daughter of
the late Antonius Hendrik and Anna (Ueffing) Hooch-Antink. Dorothy and
her husband, John immigrated to Canada from The Netherlands in 1955
and owned and operated a farm in Wolfville for many years. She was a
member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Wolfville for
over 60 years and volunteered in many capacities. She loved children
and enjoyed playing cards with her family. She is survived by her
husband, John; many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving
member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by two sisters,
Annie and Rieky; five brothers, John, Theo, Bill, Henry and Tony.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018 with
prayers to be held at 8:00 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home,
Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held
at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 in St. Joseph’s Roman
Catholic Church, Kentville, Father Craig Cameron officiating. Burial
will take place in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Cemetery,
Ridge Road, Wolfville. Donations in memory may be made to the
Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses or the Valley Regional
Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
