Doris Richardson
Doris M. Richardson of Lunenburg passed away peacefully on August 3, 2018 at the South Shore Regional Hospital at the age of 96.
Born and raised in Lunenburg she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jennie Naas.
She was a member and in her younger years, attended the Central United Church, Lunenburg. In her youth she worked at the local fish plant and traveled to Norway, Vancouver and New Hampshire.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, rug hooking, playing the piano and her favorite game – Bingo. Throughout her life she remained strong physically and mentally, walked daily and drove her car until her mid 90’s. She had a feisty nature and a sharp memory that were admired by her family and that allowed her to manage her own home until her passing.
Doris is survived by her nieces Jennifer, Karen, Carolyn, Sally and Angela and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Dawson, brothers Tommy and Gif and sisters Rose and Jean.
Her life will be celebrated at a private family service, burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
The family wishes to thank Cheryl Dawson for her many hours of compassionate care and to the staff at the South Shore Regional Hospital and the Home Care Team.
