1938-2018
Doris Dalton (nee Fitzgerald):
After a courageous battle, our dear Mom and Nanny the warrior, passed
away peacefully with her family by her side on October 7, 2018.
Predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Dalton (November 16, 2004).
Cherished by her children Andrea, Bill, Danette and her grandchild,
and apple of her eye William (Will). Also predeceased by her parents
Daniel and Margaret Fitzgerald, sisters Evelyn (Patrick), Theresa
(Michael), and her brother Daniel. Leaving to mourn her siblings
Cyril (Theresa), Winifred and Angela (Francis). Also predeceased by
the Dalton family, Jeremiah and Mary Dalton, Richard (Ida), Frances
(Michael) Vincent (Alice), Don (Angeline), Genevieve (Isaac),
Jeremiah, and George (Rita). Also leaving to mourn many nieces and
nephews. Doris gave tirelessly and generously to her family and
community. Her strength and unwavering ability defined her. Doris is
a graduate of Memorial University, and loved her vocation as a teacher
at East End School and St. Michael’s School, Bell Island, NL and she
adored her students. Doris was also a devout member of St. Gregory
Church in Cambridge, and was a member of the St. Gregory Christian
Service Committee. Doris’ children would like to thank Father John
Redmond of St. Pius X church in Brantford. Mass of Christian burial
will take place at St. Gregory’s Church, Cambridge on Saturday October
13, 2018 at 11a.m. Internment to follow at Mountview Cemetary.
Reception to follow Internment at St. Gregory Church reception room.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Lisaard House in mom’s memory would
be appreciated. May she rest in peace.
