BALSOR (Strong), Donna Sylvia – Age 67, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at home. Born in Berwick, on July 31, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Angus Carleton and Katherine (Walsh) Strong, and was the oldest child of nine younger siblings. Donna grew up in Medford, and later moved to Black Rock, where she raised her family and enjoyed living next to the water. Her passions included: quilting, gardening and helping others. Donna spent much of her career working as a continuing care assistant at various places. Surviving are her sons, Dean, Darren and Dana Balsor; and their father, Wayne Myles Balsor, Black Rock; grandchildren, Dakota, Kelsy, Dawson, Karsen, Cody and Rowen; sisters, Nancy Blanchard, Yarmouth; Carol Strong, Kentville; brothers, Richard (Wendy) Strong, Brian Strong, both of Kentville; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Ronald, Keith and Carl Strong; sister, Tina Strong. There will be no visitation. A service in celebration of Donna’s life will take place at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, in Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Hall, 300 Commercial St., Berwick. Pastor Marie MacCallum officiating, with a reception to follow. Donations in Donna’s memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
