Donna Nash
Donna May was born in Eston, SK on September 21, 1934 to Jim and Evelyn Duncan. She passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon on Saturday, February 3, 2018.
Donna will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, James. She is also survived by her brother Bill (Jeanette) Duncan; children, Wendy (Dave) Carstairs and Debbie Penner(Greg Ducharme) grandchildren, Angela Sparks, Ryan Carstairs, Jeff Penner, Breena Penner (Travis Loessin) and their families; great grandchildren, Isabelle, Caleb, Jude, Isaac, Kyson, Blake, and Nash. She was predeceased by her parents Jim and Evelyn Duncan, son-in-law Glen Penner and parents in-law Harry Nash and Kathleen and Jack Phillips.
Donna enjoyed her childhood on the family farm with her younger brother Bill. She attended Red Rock School, and then Nutana Collegiate and Scott’s Secretarial School. While working at the Daylight Bakery, she met the love of her life, Jim Nash.
Donna and Jim were married on August 18, 1956 in Saskatoon, SK. They welcomed two daughters, Wendy in 1960 and Debbie in 1963, both girls sharing a birthday on May 24.
In 1964 they moved to Rosetown and purchased the Rosetown Bakery. For nearly seventeen happy years they enjoyed the community of Rosetown and made many lasting friendships. In 1981 Donna and Jim moved back to Saskatoon. Here she enjoyed gardening, camping, bowling, travelling, her dogs, and especially spending time with children and grandchildren.
Donna showed remarkable self-discipline and positivity in living with Diabetes for fifty-four years. Donna will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit.
