Obituary for Donna Faye Conroy
DONNA FAYE CONROY
MAY 30, 1958 – SEPTEMBER 7, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donna Faye Conroy (nee Reimer) announce her passing at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital while holding hands with her loving husband Greg on September 7, 2018 after a courageous 13 year battle with cancer.
Donna was born in Creston, BC on May 30, 1958 to Gus and Audrey Reimer and was raised in Wynndel, BC. She attended the Wynndel Elementary School then Prince Charles Senior Secondary School where she graduated in 1976. After graduation she attended Selkirk College in Trail where she obtained her Office Administration Diploma. She went on to attend Selkirk College in Nelson where she attained her Licensed Practical Nurse certification. Donna went on to work in several careers including owning and operating two businesses.
Donna and Greg enjoyed traveling and made many trips to Tofino and Banff and Jasper National Parks, places that held a special place in their hearts, and camping around the local area with their RV. This past April they again took a trip to Tofino and Vancouver Island and in May took the trailer to their favorite campsite at Kootenay Lake where they celebrated their 25th Anniversary and Donna’s 60th Birthday.
Donna is survived by her loving husband Greg and son Corey, whom she often referred to as the best thing that ever happened to her. She is also survived by her only brother Dennis (Heather) Reimer, sister-in-law Gail (Ken) Conroy, brother-in-law Terry (Susan) Conroy, sister-in-law Judy (Bill) Koopmans, brother-in-law Pat (Sharon) Conroy as well numerous nieces and nephews and her faithful dog Bayley. She was predeceased by her mother Audrey in 1996 and her father Gus in 2017.
A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held in the backyard of her home where friends and family can come together to laugh, share stories and exchange happy memories on Saturday, October 6, 2018 between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm at 5186 Highway 3 and 95 West in Cranbrook.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to either the East Kootenay Foundation for Health in support of the East Kootenay Regional Hospital or to the BCSPCA Cranbrook Branch, in memory of Donna Faye Conroy. We would also like to thank Dr. Kathryn Lefebvre and Dr. Cecile Andreas for their kind and compassionate care of Donna over the years. Thanks also to the nurses on the third floor of the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. The care and compassion shown to Donna in her last days and hours was nothing short of awesome.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
