Don Mortimer, formerly of Listowel, after a long life well lived, a lot of equipment fixed and many inventions later, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Lipnicki).
Loving father of Wendy Mortimer (Brent Sleep), John Mortimer (Karen), Lori Mortimer (Ivan Smith), Kathy Mortimer (Patrick Kraemer).
Grandpa to Sylvia (Amanda), Spencer (Alanna), Rhys, Kira, Janet (Peter), Mary Caroline, Jesse (Kimi), Kelsey (Jesse James), Alex, Dayle, Oscar and Louise.
Great-grandfather of Wesley, Oliver, Katie, Lexi, Harper, Micheal and Steven.
Dear brother of Ross Mortimer (Annette).
Don will also be missed and remembered by his sisters-in-law Kris Provias, Bertie Bechtel and Millie Lipnicki.
Predeceased by his parents John and Gertrude (nee Miller) Mortimer and sisters Frances Harnock and Shirley Meadows.
Donald’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2-2:45 pm on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener. Don’s life will be celebrated at 3 pm on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home.
Private cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at Elmira Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Brucelea Haven Long Term Care or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
