Bedford, Donald “Don” Emerson
Don passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home, Simcoe, ON, on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the age of 89.
Don was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 18, 1928, and was the son of the late Carl and Neata (Holmes) Bedford.
He was a resident of Simcoe and formerly a longtime resident of Charing Cross. Don farmed on the Eleventh Line Charing Cross and was a retiree from International Harvester. He was a longtime member of the Golden Acres Curling Club in Blenheim and the Alley Oops Blind Bowlers Team in Chatham.
Beloved wife of Mae (Wilkinson) Bedford of Simcoe, formerly of Charing Cross.
Loving father of Shawn (Naila) of Prince Rupert, B.C. and Eric of Simcoe.
Sadly missed by grandchildren, Ashley, Adam and Musa.
Dear brother of George (Yvonne) of Burlington and Roy (Lois) of Chatham.
Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers, Clarence (2017) and Harry (1998).
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Charing Cross United Church, 8561 Middle Line, Charing Cross, on Saturday August 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Bill Terris, officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Don to the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home in Simcoe, C.N.I.B or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
