Obituary Overview
Alexander, Donald “Don/Donnie” Thomas
Donald Thomas Alexander (“Don” “Donnie”) age 56 of Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly on December 5th at
home. Born in Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland. He was the son of Allan and Mary Alexander (Howlett).
For more than 30 years Don was a well-respected Fitter, co-worker and friend at the Halifax Dockyards. He had found his calling in boat building at a young age and was talented in his trade. When he wasn’t working he spent a lot of his time outdoors gardening, fishing and hunting. He loved wood working and to work with his hands, he poured his heart into everything he made especially his knives. Most of all he was known for his kind heart and being the “take the shirt of his back” kind of man. Some of his happiest times were raising his 2 daughters and building memories that will last forever.
Don is fondly loved and remembered by his parents Allan and Mary; spouse Brenda; daughters Sarah (Kris) and Danielle; sisters Sharon (Lee), Mary Ellen (Harry) and Marilyn (Lyndsey); brothers Paul and Allan (Lisa) and grandson Dane.
Please join us in sharing our memories of him at The Cole Harbour Funeral Home on December 14th at 2pm.
