Obituary of Dino Bidinosti
Dino Ronald Louis Bidinosti passed away on Monday December 17 after a two year struggle with Amyloidosis. Professor, husband, and father, he lived to be 85 years old. Dino was born on March 27, 1933 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Romeo and Lenore (Pucci) Bidinosti, with siblings Gloria, Rudy, and Deanna.
After completing two degrees at the University of Manitoba he went on to achieve his PhD at McMaster University in 1959. Notable for researching Uranium 233 fission products, he went on to do Postdoctoral work at the Universities of Ottawa and Cornell.
Arriving in London in 1961, he was a sought after and respected professor of Chemistry at the University of Western Ontario for 37 years, winning numerous teaching awards. Dino was an avid swimmer and lover of classical music.
He married Joan Bertha Setterington in 1957 and they had four children, Susan, Mark, Greg, and Anita, and six grandchildren, Mia, Ian, Emily, Sarah, David, and Andrew. He will be dearly missed by all.
Visitation Friday, December 28, 7:00 – 9:00 pm at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass Saturday December 29, 10:00 am at St Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, with reception to follow at Museum London, 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
