Obituary for
Diane Acker
It is with great sadness that the family of Diane Margaret Acker, 74, of First South, announces her passing on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at home.
Born in Rose Bay, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Constance (Adams) Zinck.
Diane worked for 41 years with National Sea Products in Lunenburg in the wet fish department and retired in 2004.
She was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church, First South, where over the years she was a member of the senior choir, taught Sunday School and was Sunday School treasurer, a member of the ELW and supported the work of the church in every way she could.
In her spare time, Diane enjoyed a good game of cards, a night out bowling with friends, her love of Christmas and in earlier years entertaining family at the cottage in Lower Rose Bay. Many will remember Diane for her love of animals and she was blessed to share her home with her beloved dogs, Pebbles, Heidi, Angel, Lady and her feline friend, Mitzi.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, Harold; god-daughter, Rachael Feener (Adam) and her children, Noah, Kaiden and Dylan; brother, Nelson (Dianne) Zinck, First South, nieces, Janet and Jennifer and the extended Acker family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A memorial service to celebrate Diane’s life will be held 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church, First South. Rev. Rick Pryce, officiating. Interment will be in First South Cemetery, First South.
Flowers from the immediate family only, memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
