Derek Nolan Frey 2018

Obituary Overview
Remembering Derek
Derek Nolan Frey, resident of Edmonton and formerly of Grande Prairie, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the age of 41 years.
Those who knew Derek remember him for his cheerful energy and his ability to make people smile. He was always willing to help someone in a time of need with a helping hand or an encouraging word. Derek loved to laugh and was always trying to make those around him laugh with him.
His passing leaves a deep void in the life of his mom Connie, who loved him unconditionally; his dad Leo, who loved and respected him especially for his times with his Crohn’s illness; and his sister Christina, who he supported and guided with his encouraging words.
Derek had a heart of gold, and friends who knew him well commented that they felt he was like a brother to them.
Derek was predeceased by his grandparents Roy and Flora Barnard. Left to mourn his passing are his parents Connie and, Leo; sister Christina; grandparents Dorothy and Jack Frey of Grande Prairie; partner Maged Hanna; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends spread out all over Canada.
Derek was cremated and in accordance with his wishes there will be no funeral service.
“Don’t cry for me, I suffer no more. This is not goodbye. Until we meet again.”
