Surrounded by her loving family, Denise Marie Cormier passed
away Friday, September 7, 2018, at the Northside General Hospital,
North Sydney.
Born July 10, 1948, in Cheticamp, she was the daughter of the
late Luby and Marie Louise (Bourgeois) Deveau.
Before retirement, Denise was employed as Director of Finance
with Sacred Heart Hospital, Cheticamp. One of her proudest
accomplishments was the publication of her book, “The Village of
My Heart’s Mistake an Acadian Life” in
2011.
Denise is survived by her husband, Gerard; daughter, Michelle
Poirier, Westmount; son, Gilles Poirier (Shauna Tracey), Hammonds
Plains; grandsons, Mark Poirier and Matthew (Samantha) Lutz;
stepchildren, Sandra (Andrew) Munroe, Calgary and Jason (Krista)
Cormier, Victoria, BC; granddaughters, Ceilidh and Ashley
Cormier; brothers, Wilfred and Ronald Deveau,
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother,
Normand Deveau.
There will be no visitation or service. Interment will take
place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Nova Scotia.
