Obituary Overview
Remembering Debbie
Passed away on January 9, 2018 at 5:30 PM peacefully at home in St. Catharines, surrounded by family at her bedside at the age of 56. After a year-long battle with ovarian cancer, Debbie is finally resting in peace and singing praises to God up in heaven for the beautiful 56 years she spent on this earth. Born in Winnipeg on May 13, 1961, Debbie is survived by her loving parents, Elmer and Linda Kempt, as well as siblings Jim (Kim), Bob (Pam), and Kelly (Len), not to mention all the nieces and nephews that Debbie has loved so dearly. She leaves behind a wonderful husband and best friend of 40 years, Stephen, and 4 lovely children Aimie, Brad (Rosalyn), Jamie (Sarah), and Jon (Andrea). Debbie found great joy in the birth of her first grandchild, Millicent (Millie), whom she spoiled with love, gifts, and her time. Debbie will also be missed by mother-in-law Gloria, brothers-in law Jamie (Fran) and Jeff. Debbie’s gentle spirit, kind and thoughtful heart, and generous nature will be missed by all who knew her. She was an avid sports fan, known to cheer the loudest for the Maple Leafs, and Sunday NFL football was a staple in the home. Debbie enjoyed sunny family holidays to Florida, and had a great green thumb when it came to gardening. We will always remember your smile and your laugh, Mom, and we are so grateful for the strength and grace for which you so bravely fought this awful disease. Your faith in God has been inspiring. Not a day will go by that you won’t be thought of, mentioned, and fondly remembered. Thank you to the St. Elizabeth home care team of nurses and doctors who made it possible for Debbie to remain at home in her last days. Debbie has chosen to be cremated. A memorial service in the next few weeks is still to be determined.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Deborah Anne Pagendam nee Kempt 2018.source
