Obituary of Dawna Mahoney
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Dawna Jessie Mahoney, age 79, wife of Reginald Mahoney, which occurred on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home. She was born in Sus Corner, NB on March 29, 1939, a daughter of the late Ora and Clara (Goggin) Folkins.
Dawna loved having family gatherings. She spent many hours baking and helping where she could. She had a great talent for playing the guitar and piano. Dawna meet Reginald, the love of her life, one evening at a card game.
Dawna is survived by her husband Reginald of 53 years; daughters Kimberly Mahoney of Bellville, ON, Susan Anderson (Dennis) of Norton; sons Kevin (Heidi) Mahoney of Bloomfield, Kenneth (Cathy) Mahoney of Erb Settlement; sisters Jean (Rev. Ford) Alward of Woodstock, Marilyn (Eldon) Thorne of Sus Corner; sister-in-law Grace Folkins of Roachville; six grandchildren Keira, Colton, Derek, Erin, Connor, Madison and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus NB (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 1-3 and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Francis Xavier Church on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11:00am. Interment will take place in Wards Creek Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Dawna may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or to the memorial of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through WallaceFuneralHome.com
