It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Winston Lockhart at his home, surrounded by his loving family on April 21, 2018. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Connell), son Adam (Jodi Maher), daughter Lesley, and his pride and joy, his first grandchild, Jack as well as sister Barbara Burns. David was predeceased by his parents.
David was an avid gardener, specializing in flowers and trees and he took great pride in his yard and his home. He was a very handy man who was skilled in many trades. He worked on ocean going tug boats for years before deciding to work more locally once he and Pat started their family. He worked as a photographer with CHSJ News for years and was also a Power Engineer at St. Joseph’s Hospital until retirement in 2000. He was a quiet man, but very funny with a sharp wit and a dry sense of humor who loved his pets. Taken too soon, he will be deeply missed.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with David’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 2pm with interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family would like any donations to be made to Bobby’s Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
