Obituary of Dave Savage
Savage, John David “Dave”
(Retired Major, Canadian Signals Corps)
Went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 23, 2018 in the Pembroke Regional Hospital at the age of 78 years.
Loving husband of Doris (nee Tracey) Savage. Father of the late David Savage Jr. Loving step-father of Patty Boot (Barry Dubreuil) and Ed (Marianne) Boot. Proud grandfather of Melcha Wolanski, John (Leila) Wolanski, Lindsay (Nick) Woods and Natalie (Chris) Gorman. Great-grandfather of Tait, Avery, Sloane and Maeve. Son of the late Jack and Ruth Savage. Brother of Jeanne Savage, Booth (Janet) Savage, Carolyn (Scott) Walker and the late Marilyn O’Connor. He will also be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Dave had been a long-time member of the International Order of Odd Fellows. He held offices at the local Lodge as well as at the provincial level, most notably as Grand Master of Ontario for one year. Dave was a faithful and committed member of New Life Community Church where he served as Office Administrator, Treasurer, and committee member of the Church Leadership and Management Teams. He was also an active member of the Gideons International in Canada for the past 15 years, distributing numerous copies of the Bible locally.
Memorial visitation will take place at the Malcolm, Deavitt and Binhammer Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 27 from 5-6 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service in the chapel at 6:00 p.m. There will be a reception afterward at the funeral home.
