OBITUARY
Craig Colin Nisbet
2 October , 1949 – 8 April , 2018
CRAIG COLIN NISBET
Craig passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on April 8th, 2018 at Southlake Hospital, surrounded by his family. Loving husband of Sharon and proud father of Lauren and Elizabeth, beloved son of Maxine, brother to Michael (Vicki) and David (Shawn), son-in-law to Fred and Hazel Sooley and brother-in-law to Dan (Bea), Ken and Brian, uncle to many nieces and nephews, predeceased by his father, Douglas.
Craig proudly flew for the air ambulance, first with Bandage One and then with Ornge, for 26 years. His aviation career took him across the country and included time with Canadian Helicopters as an instructor. High points included changing the light bulb on the top of the CN Tower, and flying as part of the convoy of helicopters accompanying Pope John Paul II during his visit to Toronto in 2002.
He studied Golf Turf Management at the University of Guelph, Political Science at Lakehead University and Helicopter Pilot Training at Canadore College. Craig grew up in Aurora, where he worked at his family’s businesses, the Aurora Greenhouse and Westview Golf Club.
Craig was a wonderful friend with a great sense of humour who always had a warm smile and a kind word to share. He made connections with everyone he met and will be sincerely missed by all who had the chance to know him.
The family would like to thank Dr. Anglin and the staff who cared for him at Southlake Hospital. Donations can be made to the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre.
A celebration of life will be held at Westview Golf Club, 1563 Vandorf Road, Aurora Ontario, L4G 7C1 on May 6th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
