Cor De Corte
Cor passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Egmondville, on Sunday, November 11, 2018. Born in Milheeze, The Netherlands on January 14, 1935, Cornelius was in his 84th year.
Beloved husband of Catherine (née VanBakel) for 61 years. Loving Pop of Ida and Robert Tilker of Moorefield, Martha and Hank VanDieten of Seaforth, Martin and Nancy DeCorte of Elmira, Ken and Elaine DeCorte of Seaforth, Corinne and Tony Diemert of Clarkston, MI, Mike and Carla DeCorte of Seaforth and Tony and Sandra DeCorte of St. Joseph. Cherished Opa to 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Cor is survived by one brother, Frans DeCorte, and 15 in-laws. Predeceased by 10 siblings and 12 in-laws. Cor and Catherine have been blessed with a large circle of great friends and neighbours.
Visitation will be held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Tuesday, November 13, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and on Wednesday, November 14, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., prior to the service at the church. To honour and celebrate Cor’s life, Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 22 Victoria St., Seaforth, on Wednesday, November 14, at 1 p.m.
