William (Bill) Reginald Colvin passed away, surrounded by family, May 18, 2018 in Kelowna. Bill is survived by his loving wife Wanda, daughter Alana (Steve) of Kelowna, sons Craig of Edmonton and Scott (Barbie) of Ottawa; grandchildren Madison (Remi), Maya, Connor, Carter and Carson. Bill was born in Toronto Ontario June 9, 1934. He joined the RCMP in 1953. Bill was stationed at several locations – Ottawa HQ Division; RCMP Regimental Band; and several locations in the NWT – meeting his love, Wanda at Ft. Simpson, NWT. They were married July 1963. Bill spent the remainder of his RCMP career in Saskatchewan. He retired from the Force in 1980 – having received The RCMP Long Service Medal, the Commissioner’s Commendation for Bravery, and the Bronze Clasp and Star. Bill then worked for SGI as a Special Insurance Investigator until his retirement in 1994.
Bill loved to sail, wind surf, was an avid Fly Fisherman and a passionate photographer. Bill served as Commodore, Race Committee Chair and Secretary Treasurer of the Last Mountain Lake Sailing Club in the 70’s and 80’s.
A private family service will be at RCMP Depot in Regina later this year.
