Sloan, Mary Colleen, age
79, of the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, passed away on
September 26, 2018, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital,
Antigonish.
Born in Sydney, she was a
daughter of the late Peter and Hazel (Mombourquette)
Fanning.
Colleen was employed with St. Martha’s Hospital in
her early years, and later with St. Francis Xavier
University. She was happiest dancing, playing bingo, and
gardening.
She is survived by her husband of over 52 years, James, North
Grant; daughters, Trish (Michael) Chisholm, St. Andrews; Debbie
(Peter) Kopf, North Grant; sons, Robert (Tina), Debert; and Edward,
Williams Point; grandchildren, Tyler, Courtney, Zachary, Peter,
Lyndsay, Hannah, Maia, Dylan, and Kristen; brothers, Peter, Westmount;
Michael, North River; sisters, Janette, Ontario; Betty, Halifax; and
Delores, North River.
Predeceased by sister, Josephine and brothers, Nick and
George.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in
C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11:00am in Immaculate Conception
Church, Heatherton, with Reverend Andrew Gillies presiding.
Burial in the parish cemetery.
In Memoriam, donations to the Lung Association or the
Alzheimer’s Society appreciated.
