CLYSDALE, Helen Marie (Karn) – In her 88th year, of Sarnia, formerly of Courtright passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Bluewater Health, Sarnia. Beloved wife for 52 years to the late Jackson Heeney Clysdale (2009). Survived by sisters-in-law Mary Karn, Annie (James) Hope, Muriel Marsh, Noreen Marsh and brother-in-law Earle (Joanne) Clysdale. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Had and Hazel (Patterson) Karn, sister Virginia (Murray) Taylor and her brother Jack Karn. Helen worked at her family’s store, H. Karn’s Sporting Goods Store in Sarnia for over 40 years. She was also a member of the Polymer Rubber Dollies Baseball Team which won the 1947 Women’s Ontario Soft Ball Championship. Helen was active in the Scouting Movement for many years, a member of the Lambton Sports Hall of Fame and an active golfer and curler.
VISITATION
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 1:00 pm from at Courtright United Church. Interment to follow at Moore Union Cemetery, Mooretown.
