It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christine on November 17th, 2018 in Valley View Villa, Riverton at the age of 97. Born August 17th, 1921 in Meiklefield, she was the eldest daughter of the late James and Christena (McCulloch) MacInnis. Christine is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Jean), Braeshore; Carl, Abercrombie; and daughter, Reta (Marcel) Marcotte, Truro; grandsons, Derek (Amanda) and Jeffery; step-grandsons, Adam and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Maya, Braedon, Ethan and Macie. She was predeceased by her husband, Melton; sister, Olive and brother-in-law, Howard Usher; and brother, Walter MacInnis. Christine worked on the family farm, Canada Packers and also at Michelin Tire. She was a great gardener with her flowers and vegetables, a knitter and a quilter. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church, Pictou, Past Noble Grand of the Rebecca Lodge, No. 4, Pictou and a former member of the Caribou Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou with Service at 2:00 PM Wednesday from First Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Rev. Shelly Chandler officiating. Reception to follow in church hall. Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to the Meiklefield Cemetery, Sunnybrae Cemetery or a charity of your choice. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
