1942-2018
Christina Marie White – 75, Halifax, passed away
Monday, July 23, 2018, at Northwood Manor, Halifax. Born in Middle
Musquodoboit, she was a daughter of the late Crowell Ira and Linda
Christina (Archibald) White.
Marie graduated from Acadia with a teaching degree and was
especially proud of achieving her master’s degree. She spent
a fulfilling teaching career in Halifax and later became a guidance
councillor at St. Pat’s High School. In 1996 Marie earned
the teacher of the year award. In her earlier years, Marie loved the
outdoors and enjoyed travelling, skiing and golfing. She loved her
nieces and nephews dearly and was known as “Ree” on
their many camping excursions.
She is survived by her common-law husband, Cary Peitzsche,
Halifax; brothers, Keith (Brenda) White, Hilden; Bruce (Janice) White,
Middle Musquodoboit; step-daughters, Sandra (Chris) Burgess; Julie
(Allen) Mose; Cara (David) Phon, all of British Columbia; several
nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Marie’s family and friends
will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Hillside Cemetery,
Middle Musquodoboit, Rev. Alice Rutherford officiating. A reception
will follow at Middleton United Church. If so desired, donations may
be made in memory of Marie to a charity of choice.
The family wish to extend a special thank you to the staff of
Northwood Manor for the excellent care and kindness shown to Marie
over the years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral
