MACINTYRE, Charles
Woodworth
Catalone
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of
Charles Woodworth MacIntyre, 86, on Monday, February 12, 2018, at
Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck, with his family by his side.
He was the son of the late
Roderick and Agnes (Woodworth) MacIntyre.
A carpenter by trade, Charlie was a member of the
Carpenter’s Union, Local 1588. Besides being a member of St.
James Presbyterian Church in Catalone, he was care taker of Loch End
Cemetery for many years. Charlie lived for his family and enjoyed
visiting or calling them every day. If you had a cup of tea and a
cookie, he was your best friend. He enjoyed making wood projects for
his granddaughter, until he was no longer able, those of which will be
enjoyed for many generations. Charlie was a kind, generous and loving
man, he made friends easily and could strike up a conversation with
anyone. He will be in our hearts forever.
Charlie is survived by his children, Jamie and Colleen (John
Donovan); one grandchild, Courtney; two sisters, Eunice Sutherland and
Florence MacIntyre; two brothers, Freddie and Allison (Donna);
in-laws, Janie MacIntyre, Anne Marie Wadden, Rod and Betty MacIsaac
and John MacIsaac. He will also be sadly missed by his many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his wife of
51 years, Sharon; brothers, John and Rod; in-laws, Ern Sutherland,
Edna MacIntyre, Mary, Don and Andre MacIsaac and Don
Wadden.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Welton
Street on Thursday, February 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral
service will be held at St. James Presbyterian Church, Catalone on
Friday, February 16 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Kevin Richardson
officiating. Interment in Loch End Cemetery, Catalone at a later
date.
Charlie was especially blessed to spend his final years at
Alderwood Rest Home in Baddeck, where he was cared for by the
exceptionally kind, compassionate and skilled staff. You treated him
with the utmost respect and dignity he so deserved. We cannot thank
each of you enough. You are truly angels.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of
