Charles Shawkence
Charles Floyd Shawkence of Kettle and Stony Point passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 7th at Bluewater Health in Sarnia. Charles loved and was loved by his beautiful wife Cindy (2005). Charles took great pride in his family, Charles & Jen, Maggie and Missy (2011) & Larry. Loved Grandfather of Karlie, Jeremy, Lauren, Nation, Jillian, Raeanna, Charles, Kyra, Brooklyn, Ryder and Rayder.
Charles is the loved brother of Donna, Julie, Shawn and Shane. Predeceased by his parents Charles (2000), Verna (2014) and siblings Kenny (2007) and Willy (2013). Charles will be deeply missed by his family, many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
Known for his guidance and ability to mentor anyone in need, Charles worked in the education system, helping to guide and lead youth in their future education or work placements. With a heart for all youth, Charlie devoted his time and energy to providing activities and leadership to the youth in the community of Kettle and Stony Point.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 10th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at Gilpin Funeral Chapel, 123 King St., in Forest. A service will be conducted, remembering and celebrating the life of Charles at the Kettle and Stony Point Community Centre on Thursday, October 11th at 1pm with Pastor Murray Shawnoo officiating. Interment to take place at the Kettle and Stony Point Cemetery. Donations are appreciated in Charlie’s name to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
