DON, CHARLES MILLAR (Charlie) 1925-2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear
father, Charlie Don,
on November 3rd, 2018 in his 94th year. His wisdom, kindness,
generosity and guidance through four generations made us a much better
family.
Charlie was a veteran of WW11 Royal Canadian Navy as well as owner of
a successful business Don’s Plumbing and Heating.
Charlie was predeceased by his wife and best friend Helen (Evans)
after 43 years of marriage and his son-in-law Al Gardner who was a
great friend to Charlie.
He is survived by his daughters Heather Gardner and Lesley Moxley
(Dave), as well as 5 grandchildren Derek (Agnes), Emily (Troy
O’Handley) Gardner, Nicole (Josh Roberts) , Candice and Michael
Moxley. Charlie had 5 great grandchildren who he always had fun with
until they were too noisy! Tristan Schaefer and Alexandra Gardner,
Dominick, Damien and Deklan O’Handley, as well as Payton and
Jacob Roberts.
Charlie is survived by his sister Nancy Bowlby of B.C. and predeceased
by his twin sister Peggy Walsh of Hamilton Ontario.
Charlie’s wonderful friend Janet Clayton filled his last 16
years with travel and fun. Her companionship was a wonderful
gift.
Angela Morrison was a true friend to Charlie. Her kindness and fun
spirit was always appreciated by family, Janet and Dad.
A special “Thankyou “ to the wonderful staff of Sunnyside
Nursing Home . The staff of Shantz Hill wing filled his days with
kindness and comfort.
As per wishes, there will be a private Celebration of Life for
family.
In lieu of flowers we would appreciate donations to Sunnyside Nursing
Home Foundation (Kitchener) or a charity of your choice.
