Obituary for
Charles David Hamilton Mr.
OCDSB Retired, Knights of Columbus
Peacefully on Friday, August 31st at the age of 72 at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice with family at his side.
David is survived by his wife and best friend Reta, loving father of Kirk (Tara) and Jason (Heather). He leaves behind his siblings, Liz Sullivan (the late Ray), Carol Young (Jim), John (Lynda), Theresa Bullock (Greg), the late Virginia Arseneault (Kevin) and the late Gerry Holder. David will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
David was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus with Holy Redeemer Council, Holy Spirit Council (Founding member), and St. Philip & St. Clare Council. His life priorities were ordered by family and friends. His passions were golfing, gardening, lob ball and coaching soccer. People powered, he left footprints and laughter spread across the hearts of all that he met. He had an amazing gift for reading people and a tireless willingness to offer or give a helping hand. His mission in life was to make people laugh; a mission at which he was very successful. A man of his word he was reliable and dedicated. He treated all whom he met as he wanted to be treated himself.
The family will receive condolences at St. Philip’s Roman Catholic Church, 127 Burke Street, Richmond Ontario on Saturday, September 8, 2018 (10:00 – 11:00). Celebration of Life Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. For those who can, the family would appreciate if you are attending that you wear something red.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Hospice (Ruddy-Shenkman).
Special thanks to Dr. L. Reichman, Nursing, PSW staff from St. Elizabeth’s, staff from Champlain LHIN and the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice.
