OBITUARY
Mr. Charles Angus Ironside
September 22, 1941 – December 6, 2018
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Charlie Ironside on December 6, 2018, at the age of 77 years.
Charlie leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years Mary, his brother Norman and family of Upton Lovell, England; sons David (Mary Jane) of Kelowna, Stephen of Winnipeg; daughter-in-law Heather; grandchildren Allison (Colin), Kirsten and Sara; and great grandchildren Luke and Harrison all of Winnipeg; and close family and friends in Aberdeen and Inverness, Scotland.
Charlie devoted a majority of his life to the soccer community, as a player and coach. He was involved in starting the Winnipeg South End United Soccer club, and at one time was president of Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association. Charlie received an award in his name for dedication to the game.
Charlie’s greatest pride and joy was his 3 granddaughters and his 2 great grandsons. Charlie was also very passionate about Manchester United Soccer Club.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for all their efforts and professionalism.
There will be a public service on Friday December 14th, 2018 at 10:00 am. at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
