It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Catherine Mary (Chaisson) Peters which occurred at St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home on Monday, May 21st, 2018. Born in Tignish, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Buote) Chaisson. Mom enjoyed watching television and listening to her radio. She especially loved spending time with her family. She always had a smile and loved to joke. Mom was just an amazing woman.
Catherine is survived by her children Jean Parks (Pat), Esther Peters, Wayne Peters all of Saint John. Linda Power (Murray) of Grand Bay Westfield; sister Emelda Chaisson of Sherbrooke Quebec; brother Lawrence Buote (Stella) of Prince Matane County, Quebec; grandchildren Brad (Amy), Jennifer (Darnell), Kyle (Maiya), Alaina (Dustin), Justin (Kate), and Calvin ( Breanna); great grandchildren; Catlin, Alexa, Katana, Makenzie, Benjamin, and Samuel; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her husband Henry Joseph Peters, brothers Romeo, Phil, Alfred and Omer and sisters Yvette, Anita and Antoinette.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, May 24th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Friday, May 25th at 12 noon followed by an interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Catherine may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice
