VALVANO CIPRIANO, Caterina
Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the age of 97. Predeceased by her husband Feliciano (1951). Loving mother to Rocco (Rosa) Valvano and Maria Di Santo. Cherished Nonna “Linu” to Feliciano (Anna) Valvano, Tony (April) Valvano, Aurelio (Susan) Di Santo, Gerri (Phoebe) Di Santo, the late Angelina Di Santo (1974). Great grandmother of Mikella, Isabella, Mattea, Luca, Alex, Gabriel, Claudia, Nicholas and Adrian. Sister to Guiseppina, the late Concetta, the late Incoronata and the late Saverio (Rosa). Also predeceased by her parents, Rocco and Maria Cipriano. Left to mourn Caterina’s passing are many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. Caterina was widowed at a young age but in strong mind and body, she dedicated her life to take care of her family. She loved unconditionally and was happiest spending time with her family and friends. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff in Brock House at Linhaven for their care and compassion over the years. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, December 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 3 p.m. A Funeral Mass for Caterina will be celebrated at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines on Friday, December 7 at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rankin Cancer Run.
