Carolyn Joyce Walker – 75, of
Kentville, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Middleton, she was the daughter
of the late Clarence and Marion (Jackson) Ashby. In her earlier years,
she worked for Nova Scotia Textiles, and in later years was employed
with Sears Canada, from where she retired. Carolyn was a loving wife,
mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, knit, play cards, square
dance, garden and enjoyed her home. She is survived by her husband of
45 years, Clyde; her children, Suzanne Walker, New Minas; Mike
(Connie) Walker, Belnan, East Hants; Christine (Frank) MacFarlane, New
Glasgow; her brother, Blair (Dayle) Ashby, Windsor; three grandsons,
Ian, Neal and Joel MacFarlane; several nieces and nephews. Cremation
has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral
service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday,
January 30, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial
will take place at a later date. Family flowers only, by request.
Donations in memory may be made to the Kings County S.P.C.A. or the
charity of your choice. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of
the Valley Regional Hospital and Dr. Lori Burgess. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
