Carl George Biebrich
January 25, 1929 – November 6, 2018
With his family by his side, Carl peacefully passed away on November 6, 2018 at the age of 89 at Gimli Community Health Centre.
Left to cherish his memory, his wife of 63 years Marion, children Rodney, daughter-in-law Debbie, Brian (Cynthia), grandchildren Jennifer (Neil), Tamara (Mike), Mark (Amy), Denyse (Scott), Charlene (Trevor), David (Charlene) and 11 great grandchildren and numerous extended family. Carl was predeceased by his son Kelvin.
Carl was born in Manigotagan and grew-up in the Whitemouth area on the family farm. He settled in Winnipeg and worked with the City of Winnipeg for 31 years in the Public Works Department. He worked hard and loved to spend time in nature, including 27 years with a cottage at Lake St. George. In the summer he spent time fishing, birdwatching, and tending to their gardens.
Carl & Marion relocated to Gimli for their retirement and have been active community members of New Horizons Seniors Centre. Over his 22 years in Gimli, Carl further explored his life long passion for country music and sang with friends in the Crazy 8s. He also expressed his creativity through building and wood carving, and enjoyed curling, snowmobiling and skunking people at crib. He was a storyteller with a great sense of humour.
He took great pride in being involved in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives. He was instrumental in forming strong values and life skills in his children and grand children. Carl spent time enjoying the interests of his great grandchildren, who he adored.
Carl will be greatly missed; he was an inspiration to all whose lives he touched.

Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Carl’s life will be held Saturday, November 24, 2pm at the New Horizon’s Seniors Centre, 17 North Colonization Rd. Gimli, MB.
