1922-2018
Robert Cleghorn of Temperance Vale, NB passed away at Dr. Everett
Chalmers Hospital on October 6, 2018. Robert was born on December
10, 1922 at Grafton, NB, the son of the late E. Raymond and Freda
(Woodman) Cleghorn.
Robert graduated from Woodstock Vocational School of Agriculture. In
1941 the family moved to Temperance Vale where he farmed until 1980.
Following retirement, he was the caretaker of the Temperance Vale
Cemetery for thirty years. Robert spent six happy years at Hanwell
Special Care Home until his passing.
He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Deweyert (John), Temperance
Vale, NB; nieces and nephews, Bonnie Mason (Paul), Red Deer, AB, Wayne
Deweyert (Marianne), Dorchester, ON, Maxine Gilbey (Dale),
Fredericton, NB and Ted Deweyert (Karla), Florenceville-Bristol, NB;
several great nieces/nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Doris
McArthur (late Robert) and Joleen Stairs (late Delmont); two nephews,
Alan and Dennis McArthur.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic, NB on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 12 noon until the
hour of the funeral service at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel with
Pastor Michael Trail officiating. Interment at Temperance Vale
Cemetery followed by a reception at the Temperance Vale Community
Hall.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Robert, the family
has suggested the Temperance Vale Cemetery.
