Brian O’Malley 2018

AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Brian O’Malley
juin 2, 1938 – mars 15, 2018
With great sadness, we announce Brian’s death on March 15th, 2018, at the Charles Lemoyne Hospital, after a valiant 4 1/2 month battle with leukemia.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Esther, and his son Timothy (Esquimalt, B.C.).
Brian was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University, Kingston, followed by MBA studies at McMaster University. For 28 years, Brian worked in engineering, marketing, sales and research project analysis for Canadian General Electric and Domtar Research Centre, in Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal. He has been an important part of the St Lambert community since he moved there in 1970. For over 40 years, he was involved in the Scouting movement in St Lambert: “Hawkeye” or “Ringtail” to two generations of Beavers, and major organizer of their fund-raising fertilizer sale. He was proud to have been awarded the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal for this service. He loved music – singing in the St Barnabas Anglican Church choir and playing the guitar. He enjoyed golf, a member of St Lambert Golf Club; and was an avid NHL hockey fan, supporter of Chicago Blackhawks. For 25 years, Brian was well known around town as the guy in the white, St Lambert Journal van, responsible for organizing home delivery service, in all weather conditions. He was extremely knowledgeable in his hobbies: wine, the stock market, politics and all sorts of trivia. Brian was a scholar and a gentleman who will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, March 30th, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Collins Clarke MacGillvray White Funeral Home, Dignity Memorial, 307 Riverside, St Lambert QC J4P 1A7 www.dignitequebec.com.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 31st, at 11 am at St Barnabas Anglican Church, 95 Lorne, St Lambert, followed by a reception.
In memory of Brian, donations to the Charles Lemoyne Hospital Foundation – Oncology Fund, 3120 Taschereau Blvd, Greenfield Park, QC, J4V 2H1, would be greatly appreciated.
