Obituary of Brenda Mirasty
It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Mirasty announce her sudden passing on June 23, 2018, at the age of 55. She will be greeted by her mother, Kate Proctor, at Heaven’s gates. She will be lovingly remembered by her father, Earl Proctor, brother and sister-in-law Ken Proctor and Stephanie Ross, nephews; Nick, Justin (Shannon and great-nephew Gabriel) and Christian Ross; sister Susan Proctor, niece Jamie Horsnall ( great-nieces Keneisha and Jazmynn Horsnall ), nephew Kenny Horsnall, niece and nephew-in-law, Kyla Horsnall-Duke, and Adam Duke (great-niece Peighton Horsnall, and great-nephew Hudson Duke ) as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. Brenda loved being an Auntie, and enjoyed our family get-togethers. Brenda was born in Moose Jaw on January 31, 1963. She attended Palliser Heights School and Peacock High School. In her late 20s, Brenda took a Caribbean cruise and was bitten by the travel bug. She went on to go to university in Calgary, taking a degree in travel and tourism. She went on two student exchange programs for one year each, in Brisbane, Australia (snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef ) and Mazatlan, Mexico. She then moved to Tainan, Taiwan, to teach English. For seven years, she made Southeast Asia her home, travelling extensively through the Philippines, Malaysia and her favourite, the Maldives. She loved the warm, sunny beaches of Hawaii and Cuba. She also had the pleasure of being a chaperone for her niece, Kyla, on a high school trip to Europe, enjoying the sights in Paris, Madrid and Barcelona. When she moved back to Moose Jaw, she attended Briercrest College and Seminary, and that’s when her love and devotion to the Lord really started to shine through. She attended Hillcrest Apostolic Church. You were not afraid of your final journey, as you knew your Lord and Saviour would be there to greet you. Love you, and see you again. At Brenda’s request, a private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw, SK.
