Obituary for Beverley McEwin (Smitjes)
BEVERLEY McEWIN
Beverley Evelyn McEwin (Smitjes), 57, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 15, 2018 at the Ritz Lutheran Villa after a 17 year journey with multiple sclerosis. She was employed at Stratford Cooper Standard for many years prior to her illness.
Beloved mother of Miranda Kisman (Ray) and Levi McEwin. Cherished grandmother of Felix and Calvin. Loving daughter of Roxie Smitjes and the late George Smitjes (2008). Dear sister of Brian Smitjes (Janet), Deborah Elliott (Terry), Heather Ducharme (Murray) and Michael Smitjes. Also surviving are her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Beverley was predeceased by a niece Rebecca Elliott (2006).
The family would like to thank Dr. Parsons, Dr. Karaul, the staff at the Ritz Villa, Spruce Lodge, Hillside Manor, Cedar Croft Place and Stratford General Hospital for all of their attentive care over the years.
At Bev’s request, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to celebrate her life at the Lockhart Reception Centre, 116 Montreal St., Mitchell on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 3-5 p.m. Memorial donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Main Street United Church Building Fund or charity of one’s choice would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
We are thankful that Bev has gone to heaven and is no longer in pain.
