Obituary of Bertha Jardine
It is with sadness that the family of Bertha Alice (Parlee) Jardine, age 100, loving wife of the late Walter Jardine, announces her death which occurred peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 12, 1917, in Poodiac, NB, a daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Brown) Parlee.
Bertha loved life and was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was an avid bridge player up until her late 90’s.
She is survived by her four children, Jack (Mary Alice “Bonnie” Beatty) of Sus, NB, Gary (Cheryl Robertson) of Red Deer, AB, Sharon (Jacques Rene de Cotret) of Campbell’s Bay, QC, Lloyd George (Francoise Marcil) of Thorsby, AB. Bertha was known as “Buba” to her fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her sisters Vera Mullally, Effie Jardine; brothers Clarence, Harold, Fred, Roy “Charlie”, Herbert, Raymond and Arthur.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus, (506-433-1176). In honouring Bertha’s request arrangements will be held privately.
