Obituary of Bernard Prefontaine
PREFONTAINE, Bernard Marc
Early Sunday, November 4, 2018, Bernard, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully at the age of 88. Predeceased by his wife Marilyn (née LeBlanc); parents, Emilien and Josephine (née Robinson) Prefontaine; as well as sister Michelle and brother Paul, Bernard is survived by his children Hélène (Michael), Patricia, and Alain (Brandy); and grandchildren, Dominic, Gabrielle, and Hayley. He is also survived by brothers, Réal and Renaud; and sisters, Fernande, Nicole, Geraldine, Gabrielle, Madeleine, and Lucille; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bernard was born at home near Lisieux and was baptized in Rockglen the following day. He took over the family farm at a young age. Bernard married the love of his life Marilyn and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage. He was an avid bridge player and was very involved in his community of Lisieux and Regina. Bernard was a member of the Kinsmen, and Knights of Columbus (4th Degree Knight). He cut hundreds of bags of onions for the annual tourtiére fund raiser at his parish of St. Jean-Baptiste, which continue to be enjoyed by the community today. Bernard spent many days teaching and playing at the Regina Lawn Bowling club. The family would like to thank the staff at Eden Care, as well as Dove House Personal Senior Care Home for taking such good care of Dad. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jean-Baptiste R.C. Church, 2517 25th Avenue, Regina, SK, on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Lisieux Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
